Hello please call me GA LA CAR. I am
originally from the big city New York. I had a
dream of owning and operating my own boutique where
women could get beauty services and fashions. My
mother was my inspiration due to her beauty, grace
and style. When I discovered that I these same
qualities I took them to a higher level and there
evolved GA LA CAR.
I attended college majoring in Business
Administration with a minor in Journalism. While attending
college she had the opportunity to work for a prestigious
temporary employment agency in the Wall Street area of New
York City. The agency gave me the opportunities to work for
Essence Magazine, The New York Stock Exchange, Solomon
Brothers Brokerage firm and the Mayor’s Office. The
corporate world did not allow for room for creativity.
I took my corporate knowledge proceeded to the next step and
attended cosmetology school.
I attended Long
Island Beauty School and became a licensed cosmetologist.
I was the first
black person to be awarded a scholarship from my cosmetology
school to attend
Christine Valmy
School For Esthetics and Makeup located on 5th
Avenue in New York. I was certified
then honored and given the privilege
of become a teacher at Christine Valmy's makeup courses.
This lead me to open and operate her
own skin care and cosmetics clinic within a
salon located in Long Island, New York. While
working at my craft an opportunity opened up for me
to own and operate my own business in Jacksonville,
Florida. Arriving here ahead of my time, I had to
offer more than skincare and cosmetics. I utilized
my cosmetology skills and became a Weaveologist.
This was the beginning of making my dream into a
reality of offering a host of beauty services and
fashions.
