THE BACKGROUND... 

The founder of GA'LA-CAR Cosmetics, N.Y. is from Queens, New York. She  is a licensed cosmetologist, a certified esthetician (facialist), and make-up artist. She attended Long Island Beauty School in New York and was the first black female to be awarded a scholarship to Europe's Christine Valmy's 5th Avenue, New York , School for Esthetics (Skin Care) and Make-Up. Upon completion of her extensive training, she worked with EM Magazine (Ebony Man Magazine, NY) as a free-lance make-up artist. She also had the pleasure of teaching the make-up course at Christine Valmy's 5th Avenue School in New York. 

She has extensive experience with makeup applications designs for women of color ranging from ivory to ebony. She has designed and offers color coordinated cosmetics kits enabling women to take the guess work out of beauty for day, evening, business, religious and bridal wear. She has developed a marketing plan that includes salon/boutique owners, cosmetologists and independent partners in the company's success.  Her foundation on love of God, neighbor and self. These qualities must be extended with each sale and service rendered by the company.

Her dream was to own and operate her own total cosmetics and skin care line for women and men. With having this dream in mind, shel didn't act upon it. Shel was inspired to make it happen by her daughter. Her daughter has been diagnosed with a learning disabilities.  Learning disabilities can hinder the learning process of children. As a result they can fall behind in reading, math and develop low self- esteem.. After discovering that there was a need to assistance in these area she became compelled to help and formed The GA LA - CAR CARES division, featuring The United Unique Production, (UUP), www.whatzuup.org   "Assisting with Success in Academics, Arts and Awareness"...  UUP Private Reading & Resource Tutoring, a division of United Unique Productions, (UUP).  It was established  to reinforce and work in harmony with the special education programs for children with learning disabilities.  GA LA - CAR Cosmetics, N.Y. will contribute 10% of kits, video sales and will sponsor benefit activities for the cause.

She has reached out to other parents with children with learning disabilities and found that (the parents) need a career that offered flexible time to care for their children. Recognized that she would have to make adjustments in her life.  She needed a career that she liked, allowed her freedom and flexibility while providing financial security and opportunities. This was the prime time to make her dream into a reality. Shel has extended career opportunities to:

adults with learning disabilities,  mothers with children with learning disabilities,  single moms and stay at home moms.

To ensure that she was walking the walk and just not talking the talk She has been working actively with the United Unique Productions (UUP) to make a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities. She has been able to gain sponsorship from local businesses.  Coming soon, her book of poetry and...
